The Register of SLCF Approved Bodies, lists all organisations which have been approved by SEPA to receive and distribute SLCF funds and all organisations which have had their approval revoked, either voluntarily or forcibly.

Additional funding criteria: It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they have appropriate and adequate insurance to cover any works carried out by volunteers. The Trust will not award funds to a project that has secured or subsequently secures funding from another registered approved body. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all necessary consents are obtained prior to starting any works. Any lease or management agreement for the project location must be in place before any application is made. It is important that the future maintenance of any project is considered, and that costs and funding sources have been identified.

FCC Communities Foundation Ltd

Funding limits: Grants of between £2,000 and £40,000 are available through the FCC Scottish Action Fund for projects with a maximum total project cost of £250,000 including VAT (if relevant).

Exclusions (specific elements not funded): The project site must be owned, leased or under long term formal management agreement by the applying organisation.

Any lease or management agreement must be in place before any application is made and have at least 5 years left to run.

Work must be targeted on a specific site at a single location.

To be eligible for funding for phased projects, you must be able to evidence that the application is distinct from other phases and can be completed as a stand‐alone project.

FCC CF does not consider the fitting out of kitchen or toilet facilities or other standard fittings in a new build community facility to be separate phases.

Projects which have received funding from FCC CF cannot apply for further funding for at least 12 months.

Fife Environment Trust

Funding limits: Small Grants Scheme: Applicants can apply for between £500 and £10,000 up to a maximum intervention rate of 90% of total eligible costs.

Large Grants Scheme: Applicants can apply for between £10,000 and £50,000 up to a maximum intervention rate of 75% of total eligible costs.

Timescale for application: Small Grants Scheme: submissions can be made at any time.

Large Grants Scheme: grant submissions take place twice per annum at the end of March and the end of September.

Grantscape Scotland Ltd

Funding limits: Smaller Projects Fund: Awards between £3,000 and £20,000. Projects must have an overall cost of no more than £40,000. Projects must start within 3 months and complete within 12 months of funds being awarded.

Primary Fund: Awards between £3,000 and £50,000 Projects must have an overall cost of no more than £250,000 Projects must start within 6 months and complete within 12 months of funds being awarded.

Timescale for application: 12 weeks max from application closing date to decision. See website closing dates.

Additional funding criteria: To be eligible for funding the applying organisation must own or hold a lease for the project site with at least 5 years remaining. The applying organisation and the project site must be run on a not-for-profit basis.

If your project site has received SLCF funding from SUEZ donations within the last 3 years, then a new application will not be considered until three years has elapsed from the date the previous funding agreement was signed.

LT Funding Ltd

Timescale for application: TSH have 4 funding rounds per quarter which are closed at the end of March, June, Sept and Dec. This is when all received, fully completed applications are assessed.

Additional funding criteria: All successful projects must be completed within a twelve-month timescale and evidence of spend must be submitted to the SLCF board at the end of this period.

Valencia Communities Fund

Funding limits: Funding is available for applications up to £25,000.

Additional funding criteria: Awards will be for capital expenditure only.

The applicant must hold the freehold of the project site, or have a minimum of ten years left to run on a lease.

The applying organisation must demonstrate measures are taken to ensure their project is:

  • Needed by the community and will promote community participation.
  • Self-sustaining and have long-term management plans.
  • Both environmentally sustainable and has minimal impact on biodiversity as possible.
  • Available for use by the whole community and will not just benefit a restricted user group

Exclusions (specific elements not funded): Projects located on/in: Allotments; School grounds; Facilities primarily used for service; provision or not considered a general public amenity, such as hospitals, day centres, hospices or accommodation.

Proportional projects.
Salaried posts or revenue funding.
Purchase or lease of vehicles.
Purchase of land or buildings that are not at risk of closure or loss to the community.
Multimedia or CCTV equipment, events, CDs, website or marketing materials.
