Stakeholders
We believe that everyone in Scotland has an investment in their
environment, but there are obviously some stakeholders that are
particularly important for us when delivering our objectives. These
include individuals and organisations in:
- local government
- public agencies
- regulated sector (eg businesses)
- communities and campaign groups
- science and education.
SEPA is not the only organisation that has ‘green’
responsibilities. We work with local authorities on many issues,
from fly-tipping to flood prevention. We also work with
organisations such as Scottish Natural Heritage, the Marine and
Coastguard Agency, the Health and Safety Executive and many
others.
Examples of our partnership working include:
- the National Waste Strategy
- local biodiversity action plans
- river catchment improvement plans
- strategic environmental assessments.
You can read more about SEPA's role in the ‘About us’ section, while the ‘What we don’t do’ section will tell you more
about the work of our stakeholders.
